After enduring an unexpected, tragic loss, this family needed a sanctuary — a peaceful place to escape, recharge, and heal together. At 10,000 square feet, there was more than enough room for the entire extended family. And being a recent designer showhouse, every room was already objectively beautiful.
But, as each space had been envisioned and executed by a different designer, the home felt disjointed and lacked the soothing atmosphere this family needed. So, we thoughtfully re-designed each room to achieve a cohesive vision throughout — creating a home that would nurture and nourish the family in their grief while giving them spaces to make new memories together.

With a soothing, neutral palette, this home is a peaceful exhale. Charcoal gray and shades of blue give a nod to the coastal setting, while pops of color from oversized art add vibrancy and joy. Oversized windows maximize lush views and sunlight, bringing nature indoors at every opportunity.
The large, airy kitchen offers plenty of room to prepare and enjoy family-style meals, with ample seating for everyone between the island, kitchen table, and adjacent dining room.
Upstairs, the spaces become more tailored to their individual inhabitants: the couple’s grown children each had a hand designing their own rooms. Every bedroom also has its own seating area for a quiet place to escape and unwind.
A grandparent’s dream, this sprawling home also delivers plenty of space for grandchildren. Two separate playrooms mean toy and game storage for all ages, plus kid-friendly lounging space for popcorn and movie nights. There are even extra bedroom areas designed for nannies.
French doors connect the living room to a gorgeous backyard. Plush lounge chairs surround a glittering pool and spa, and a tennis court provides the ultimate spot to play together in the summer sunshine.
This project is a beautiful reminder that interior design is about so much more than pretty finishes. It was such a privilege and honor to walk alongside this family as they healed; to listen and hold space for their loss, while creating spaces to promote peace and facilitate joy.
